June 30, 2005 Audit Report

Excerpt from previous Annual Report

Nearly 100% of HomeShare Vermont's customers reported an overall high level of satisfaction with our services and would recommend our program to a friend or neighbor.  These were just some of the   results of our year-long Outcomes Survey Project.  Customers of HomeShare Vermont also told us of specific areas where we needed to improve our services.  Current program and staffing changes are already under way based upon these survey results.   HomeShare Vermont is also now modifying its Strategic Plan to take those and other comments into consideration for our long-term planning process.

Announcement from April 2002

Dear Friends,

Happy Anniversary, HomeShare Vermont! Celebrating 20 momentous years! Once again, thank you for the terrific support you have provided! We’ve come a long way in twenty years, and many good changes are in the offing -

  • We changed our name to provide a clearer vision of who we are!
  • We expanded staff to assist more people!
  • We have added new services like training and support groups for our caregivers!
  • And, in 2001, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation, interviewing and surveying those we serve and found:

77% feel safer in their homes

73% reported household chores get done more easily

68% feel less lonely

68% feel happier

Please help us continue to offer our unique and comprehensive services while meeting the challenges that lie ahead.

The United Way Allocations Team said in their March 2002 report:

"HomeShare Vermont’s programs are extremely effective and efficient in meeting the key provisions of their mission. Despite its very small staff, it manages to effectively reach an extremely vulnerable segment of the community with sensible and effective programs. It will continue to be a challenge for HomeShare Vermont to meet the needs of the community with its modest budget, heavy dependence on volunteerism and minimal government support".

Your donation makes all this possible. Thank you one and all!

Sincerely,

William J. Young

Advisory Board Chairman

P.S. – Over 55% of our budget comes from private donations. Your contribution is essential. Our fiscal year ends June 30th.
